Edwardian Cheshire Home

The owners of this Edwardian house tasked Martin Moore with creating a highly functional, cohesive family kitchen that better suited the style and heritage of the property. They wanted to replace the previous glossy, handle-less kitchen with one more rooted in traditional craftsmanship.

Although one of the first things you see when you walk into the room, the opposite wall had never been put to good use until Martin Moore designed a freestanding appliance cupboard for this area. With a more relaxed feel than the formal dining area adjacent to the kitchen, the "island table" acts as an intermediate dining space where the family can gather. Taking their inspiration from Martin Moore's New Deco display in the Altrincham showroom, the homeowners chose a bold teal colour for the bar stools as well as the dramatic feature wall in the dining area.
